Author Guidelines

Submitting manuscripts for publication in the Eurasian Journal of Physics and Functional Materials.

All submitted articles undergo a review procedure on the principle of double blind peer review and editorial review.

All manuscripts for publication in the journal are checked for plagiarism.

The editorial board recommends the authors to use the following rules in preparation of their manuscripts for publication in the journal.

Here you can find the template of Text file according to which the manuscript should be formatted.

Review Process

The manuscript submission and peer review process is broken down into the following steps:

  3. The Associate Editor selects Referees to review and report on the manuscript.
  4. The Referees review the manuscript.
  5. The Associate Editor makes a recommendation, which is then reviewed by the Corresponding Editor. The author is contacted with the decision.

The authors may use without any restrictions the article in their teaching and research activities.

Terms of publication in the journal

Manuscripts in English containing previously unpublished scientific articles, reviews, discussion materials and reports at conferences (selectively) in the field of physics and functional materials containing the results of fundamental and applied research are accepted for publication in the journal.

  • The following information should be placed in the center of the manuscript: initials and surnames of the authors; full names of organizations, cities and countries where the research was done, e-mail address of one of the authors. The place of work of the authors should be given in the footnotes. It is necessary to specify: the faculty (research institute, department), university, city, country. The information about departments and divisions is not needed.

  • After registration as an author it is necessary to submit an electronic version of the manuscript online at http://ephys.kz.
  •

Submission.

Manuscripts should be written in LATEX format and should be submitted to the Eurasian Journal of Physics and Functional Materials after registration via website (www.ephys.kz). With file in LaTeX format you need to attach a file in pdf format with an example of how the file should look like after the layout of the LaTeX package and all figures from article in WinRAR or Zip archive.

All files in WinRAR format necessary for submition of the article can be downloaded from our website www.ephys.kz → for authors → download.

WinRAR format file contain follow files:

for_authors.tex : sample LaTeX coded file for typesetting manuscripts
for_authors.pdf : sample typeset pages
figure1.jpg : sample of figure

For help with the use of LaTeX, please e-mail to azhibekov@ephys.kz.When paper is accepted for review, the authors can monitor the status of manuscript in personal account on website www.ephys.kz.

Copyright. When the paper is accepted, the copyright is automatically transferred to the Eurasian journal of physics and functional materials.

The manuscript should be divided into sections: Title page, Abstract, Introduction, Main body (7–8 pages), Conclusion, Acknowledgement, References.

The Importance of Titles

The main function of the Title is to attract the audience. Therefore, it should be built according to the formula:

  • Attract attention.
  • Designate the target audience.
  • Show why read your article.

Abstract and Keywords

The Abstract is:

  • A summary of the content of the journal manuscript giving the general idea of its theme and structure
  • A time-saving shortcut for busy researchers
  • A guide to the most important parts of your manuscript's written content

Your Abstract should answer these questions about your manuscript:

  • What was done?
  • Why did you do it?
  • What did you find?
  • Why are these findings useful and important?

We recommend word count for Abstracts 170-200 words, and no citations.

Keywords are a tool to help indexers and search engines find relevant papers. If database search engines can find your journal manuscript, readers will be able to find it too. This will increase the number of people reading your manuscript, and likely lead to more citations.

However, to be effective, Keywords must be chosen carefully. They should:

  • Represent the content of your manuscript
  • Be specific to your field or sub-field

Acknowledgments

Its purpose is to thank all of the people who helped with the research but did not qualify for authorship (check the target journal’s Instructions for Authors for authorship guidelines). Acknowledge anyone who provided intellectual assistance, technical help (including with writing and editing), or special equipment or materials.

Also, use this section to provide information about funding by including specific grant numbers and titles. If you need to include funding information, list the name(s) of the funding organization(s) in full, and identify which authors received funding for what.

Illustrative materials should be presented in the following formats: for photos and figures –  tiff or jepg, jpg (300 dpi for black-and-white and color photos); for graphs, diagrams, schemes, etc. – exls, cdr. If the figure was taken from the other source, then a reference to the source must be made below it. Illustrations can be placed in the text, but they must be enclosed as separate files with numbered captions(for example, 1.jpg).

References published not in the English language should be presented in the generally accepted English transliteration. This can be done using the program presented on the site http://translit.ru/.
